The objective of this circular is to inform all staff in the Department of Radiology regarding the SOP for outsource MRI cases.
On 30th April 2021. MRI at SASMEC @IIUM was breakdown. This had resulted in the downtime of the system for few days. As had been known widely, this had resulted in back logging of cases and had crippled the operation of the hospital for that duration of period. Since then, about 15 patients had been re-scheduled to the later dates. The waiting time for MRI will be longer since we only can cater 6-8 patients per day and there are a long lists of MRI patients to be slotted in. For your information, there are a few cases need to be outsourced based on urgency of the cases. These will be done in cooperation with PenMedic.
