The objective of this circular is to alert radiographers and staff nurses to inform ward staff to prepare patients (>60) with diapers before entering the MRI room.
There was an incident involving elderly patients who underwent the MRI where the patient had pass urine on the MRI table. This incident had caused the damage of MRI components. As result the MRI procedure cannot be done for months.
For precaution, the department had decided that all patient with ages 60 years and above MUST wear diapers before undergoes the MRI examination.
All staff are kindly requested to obey this decision.
