The objective of this circular is to inform all radiology staff the action that can be take to hand over any urgent request from clinician by phone call to respective radiology’s medical officer.
The issue rises when there are few urgent cases that need to be done on the same day. The counter staff received a few calls from the Emergency Department to sent the patient with pending RTK’s result. At the same time, another urgent case was accepted but not yet sent down. By the SOP, the patient with Covid positive/ RTK positive/ RTK pending will be treated as a positive patient; will be treated as the last patient of the day. However, the ED’s MO keep calling to sent their patient first. The counter staff had no power to reject the request
As discussed, the department decided that the radiology’s MO on duty at the respective modality to handle these kinds of phone calls.
All staff are kindly requested to obey this decision.
